Hello,

There are a few possibilities....

First off is the engine light on? If so go by your local parts store and ask them to pull codes. Write them down and post them here in forum.

Here are a couple possibilities....

IAC - Idle Air Control Valve

TPS - Throttle Possition Sensor

Vacuum Leak

Any of which should turn the engine light on.

Ok, does the engine light come on for few seconds when key is turned to possition? If not the bulb may be burnt out. And having codes pulled would help.

If does come on then would need to start looking for a vacuum leak. They can be a pain to find, it took me on a mini-van almost 4 hours to locate the small little hose, about an inch long, that was the cause.

Common leak paths include the throttle body gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, and of course, any of the engine's vacuum fittings, hoses and accessories. It is even possible that leaky O-rings around the fuel injectors are allowing air to leak past the seals. Another overlooked item can be a worn throttle shaft.

The engine light comes on when starting the vehicle like it is supposed to. It is being taken this morning to get checked out by a mechanic. Thanks for all your suggestions.
