I need to know how to tighten a serpentine belt on this 2005 dodge ram pickup 5.7 magnum hemi motor

The belt tensioner sets the tension so it is automatic don't worry about that. Here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job.

use a 15 mm wrench on the tensioner pulley bolt. Rotate belt tensioner counterclockwise

Oh my gosh, thank you so much! This was my husbands first time to replace an alternator, and the belt had too much tension after everything was back together. This helped tremendously!
