I just bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel 6 speed manual trans.
I need to know if i can start driving my car in 2nd gear intead of 1st gear.

and would this affect my transmission.

You can start in second gear a lot of people do as long as you are not towing anything.Under normal stop and go driving you can start in second gear 1st gear is a low gear for if you are towing or have a heavy load in the bed then you must use 1st
