Just have U-Joints replaced and now tranny is leaking from rear main seal.

Dealer wants over $170 to replace this part plus another $200 for tranmission fluid and filter change.

I just can't pay them that much for such a simple job.

Can I change this seal myself easily ?

Do I need a special tool ?

All I can say is WOW! ALmost 400.00 for a 2 dollar seal. Just remove the drive shaft, remove the old seal, then just simply tap a new one in. I always use a small piece of 2x4 to keep it flush and to it doesn't get damaged. Make sure to place a thin film of ATF on the rubber part of the seal before replacing the drive shaft.

If your trans fluid needs changed, let me know. It is a dirty but easy job.
