hi there
We just had mechanic put a new engine into ram 1500 van cuz heads were blow then determined engine was bad. Now, after getting engine replaced, it seems the trans is slipping? MEchanic asked if we had any work done as it seems to be "slipping" when accelerating from 0-10. If you accelete super slow, no slipping. if you take off a bit faster, it slips or makes noise like slipping. It seems to happen especially when going fro 10-20, like when you hit 11 or 12 mph, it really seems to want to slip. You hear that noise and can feel the "burp". Never happend before engine replaced. Mechanic said trans fluid was super low. might have been bleeding cuz van sat for solong wthout being driven and before new engine. he added trans fluid. seems to help a little but not much. Just seems wierd that all of sudden it's happening after engine replaced but not before. Doesn't do any slipping over 12 mph or when you accelerate super slowly. really discouraged. Someone suggested that maybe something needed to be reset, something maybe with the computer? I dont know. Any suggestions?? THANK YOU.

There is a relearn program for the trans, but if isn't going to help a slipping. Does it slip in reverse? 1st gear and reverse work from the same clutch pack.

Let me know.
