1999 Dodge Ram transmission clunking after tranny flush

I took my truck in for service at a local shop. I have not had the tranny serviced before, wanted to get the fluid replaced. After I picked it up, after coming to a full stop, after about 3 or 4 seconds i could feel and hear a loud clunk noise and the lights on the truck dim at the same time. What in the world happened to cause this after the flush? Is it coincidence that there was a problem with my tranny or did the flush possibly damage something?

i cant seem to think of any relation to the 2. the clunk usually is the driveline lash which for the most part is normal. with the lights dimming i would have the charging system checked but it seems like its a coincidence more than anything but you can never be sure. i always give my customers the benefit of the doubt and i would recheck the vehicle for them if i just worked on it to make sure i didnt cause the problem because sometimes it happens.

the clunking is not normal it is very loud, the rpms go down and the lights dim at the same time as the clunk. never did this before the service. has to be connected. any thoughts?

it just doesnt make sense to me. i just cant think of a direction to send you except to bring it back to the transmission shop. its possible that flushing the trans moved some debris in the pan and it could have got inside one of the shift solenoids and the torque converterr is not releasing. this could cause your concern. a transmission shift solenoid will store a code in memory but not put the check engin elight on. definitely have him scan it and let me know
