Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Dodge Ram Four Wheel Drive Automatic 83,000 miles
This truck has the V-10 motor, and the problem generally happens when it is colder outside. Several times the oil filter has backed off, allowing all the oil to be pumped out. One time it actually spun all the way off. Generally it just loosens enough to allow the oil to spill out. I have tried tightening with a filter wrench when I install a new one, and I've tried different brand filters to no avail. I'm at a loss as to what to do.
