My 98 Dodge Ram 2500 v-10 automatic overdrive 4x4 is making a matalic noise when it is under a load. When pulling a steep hill, empty truck, and the passing gear kicks down, you can hear and feel the noise and it gets louder as engine RPM increases.I just had a new engine installed and the noise just stsrted. The noise may have been there before and I couldn't hear it due to the noise of the rods and pistons.I had the shop that put the engine in look at it and they said it was in the transmission.Befor the new engine was put in the transmission had a little shutter first thing in the morning then it would go away for the rest of the day.I adjusted the front band and the shutter went away for a couple of weeks. The shutter came back slightly and I adjusted the TV kickdown cable within 1/32 inch and now the shutter is gone.If I put my foot on the brake and slightly power brake the engine The noise comes in and gets louder with increased throttle, when I let off the throttle I here a relaxed clunk, The rear axle isn't twisting up and the motor mounts don't move but a 1/2 inch. The trany mount is solid. The noise is close to the sound of a exhaust shield. The noise is coming from the transmission oil pan area.
