i have a 98 dodge ram pickup 4x4 with 5.2 l. the check engin light is on the front seal is leaking. it only leaves a small 2 to 3 inch in diamiter if sitting alll day. when i take off if i floor the gas pedal it takes off really slow then once it moves in to second gear it drives normal it only happens on take off everyother gear works normal i changed the fluid and filter about a three months ago.the fluid doesnt smell burnt. i took it to a mechanic and he told me the front seal is out and the bearing right behind the seal is out and needs to be replaced but i sont know what the bering is called. i tink he told me it was pushing on a return line and that was causing the slow take off. is this correct? or could there be some thing more he cant get to it for two weeks but i need to get this done by this week end.

IS it the front seal on the transmission that is leaking? Behind that is the front pump. The torque converter attaches to it. What bearing is he talking about?
