I took our truck to Midas and told them I thought I needed a brake master cylinder because the brake pedal was going all the way down when we stopped--instead of doing that, Midas put brakes all around and charged us nearly $500.00. I put in the master cylinder in myself. The back brakes weren't adjusted so I took it back to Midas for adjusting and was told I need a brake booster for an extra $400.00 to put it in. I'm not sure what the problem is now because when they adjusted the brakes, they are now hard to push. Should that happen?

Over adjusting the rear brakes may cause a hard high brake paddle
also bad booster will give you a hard paddle
check vacuum hose on booster
