1998 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive 149440 miles

To replace the air filter on my 1998 ram 1500 with a 5.2L V8 do i need to removr the whole air box that sits on the throttle body?

You should be able to replace it with just opening the top. There are two clips that open.
