transmission will not shift - p0753 code

Yes, P0753 is an open or short in governor solenoid/relay. See diagram it is located on valve body. Check wiring and connector for corrosion at the connector. .

well i replaced the governor solenoid, relay and filter while i was there and not only did it not fix the problem, but now it seems worse. the truck now can barley make it up the slight slope of my driveway. now i really do not know what to do. thank for the information on the solenoid.

no i have not, it is still sitting in my driveway. after replacing the governor solenoid and filter and new fluid to replace what was in the pan it got worse not better. now the truck will barely move and i think i need to have the transmission rebuilt.

Was there clutch material in the pan, dark pieces or sludge? Any bronze or silver particles in pan? Check brown wire on solenoid plug for voltage, the fuse might be blown.

there was quite a bit of sludge in the pan and the transmission fluid was very dark with like silver floating on top.

Okay, it sounds like you need a rebuild.

hello i have the exact same problem with my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 only i have no sludge nor shavings whatsoever in the pan and fluid is great color. i checked brown wire and have no power ( key off , key on , and key on truck in drive). i am stumped it seems as though the transmission relay is good. i am lost as to where to hit next. please help .

I have a question. Recently my 1997 Ram 5.2 is not shifting good. it takes off well but it takes a while for it to go into second gear like it goes into high rpm's and will not shift. I let of the gas and it shifts into second then there are times when it shifts into second then first then second again. can it be my solenoids it something? thanks

I have an automatic 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 4 wheel drive. I just changed my transmission filter and oil. When I went to drive it changes into gears but when it comes to driving the it does not shift. What can be the problem?

It sounds like you have a shift solenoid that has gone out. Here is a transmission wiring diagram so you can do some testing. Check each solenoid to see if one is way different that will be the bad one.
