1996 Dodge Ram return line fluid pressure at idle

i have a 96 ram 1500 with a 5.2 and a 46re 4spd
overdrive,i removed the trans fluid return line at idle hot and the fluid was at a very slow trickle- what should the trans fluid pressure be at the return line from the radiator at idle ?,also is their a check ball in the trans fluid delivery line to the radiator,never had a trans flush/purge ,
seems to be alittle weak at acceleration but then shifts fine .any info would help,thanks.

There is no specific pressure at the cooling lines because there are no check valves or pressure point. The fluids passing through the radiator are for cooling purposes only.

If the acceleration is poor with proper shifting, it is more likely to be from the engine rather than the transmission. If there are any problem with transmissions,it would most likely be slipping rather than underperforming.
