hi larry again, i got a 96 dodge ram 1500 [5.2 w/46re trans.] i know this vehicle was one of the first with OBD II, i would like to know if the computer on this vehicle can be reprogrammed for better performance , ie;[ throttle response, horsepower, shift points,ect.....ect...] via the OBD II port with a scanner/programmer or do i need a chip of some kind?
I guess i would just like to know how to get a little more out of it without breaking the bank-thanks for the info

Hi larryd, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

You probably have to put a performance chip to it-my way to get a little kick on it-is put a 10K ohms resistor and bridge the coolant temperature sensor connector this will fool the computer that the engine is cold and gives fuel on demand
