Electrical problem
1988 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My truck shows symptoms of a bad alternator... Lights dimming as i drive down the road to the point of being unnoticeable. It wont start without a jump, and it seems fine for a couple minutes until the lights start fading fast again. I had the alternator tested at a parts store and it was pushing out 14 volts so i am lost as to what is causing the problem.

Load test the battery to see if its taking the charge-test okay-double check all connections on the battery/alternator-also check alternator belt tension.

An operating charging system should be putting out between between 13.5volts-15.50 volts
