Radiator Fan does not come on

I have a 1997 Dodge garand carvan 3.3L six cylinder two wheel drive. My van over heats and the cooling fans do not come on I know they work because if I hit the A/C button both fans come on. What can be cousing the problem?

sounds like you may have a bad coolant temp sensor , you can jump the connector and see if they come on and if they do your sensor is bad
