Dodge Part # 4734030 broke . This part value <$3.00 is discontinued. Now one has to buy the entire heating/cooling box which costs about $450. I discovered that upon pressing recirculation button nothing happens. Took the little motor off (3screws) and found out the part 4734030 is broken(Plastic arm that connects the motor and the damper). Spent over 2 hours and figured out that the motor run clockwise(facing arm-side) each time the ignition switch turned on. every time the ignition switch is turned on it rotates clockwise and the position of the arm change and it completes the circle 360 degrees. which it should not. Due to the fact the motor does that it broke above plastic part. This motor runs anti-clockwise when ignition switch turned on, when blower motor is off.
This motor never suppose to make complete full circle on switching ignition switch on-off few times.
It should rotate back and forth less than 90degrees at one specified sector (like 12 to 3am in watch). So that this part under question does not forced to break by the motor, it is attached to.
Need your help to correct the problem of this mad motor. Thanks a million
Thanks

That is how the motor self calibrates. It runs the full range of motion and when the motor meets resistance, it reverses to calibrate where the stop is.
