I am having a problem with my 1987 Dodge Omni. It has only 41,262 actual miles.
It started after I had experienced a bad bump going over a reailroad track. The car started to try to die and I had to "goose it" with the foot feed and it would jump forward and then try to die once again. I kept that up for the 3 or 4 miles to my mechanic's shop. He tested the fuel pressure and it was low. He changed the fuel pump (due to a having to order the part, it took several days). After the fuel pump was installed, it drove fine for about 2 miles and then it began to do the same thing again. I changed out the PCV valve and the fuel filter. It will idle but when it is put into gear, it dies.
Any suggestions?

check your timing i had an 87 dodge charger with the same problem and the timing was off by one or two teeth ( by the way they had the same motor in them) this can be done easly with a timing lite
