1983 Dodge Omni Accelerator Cable Sticking

In 1987, I had a Ford Pinto that the accelerator cable stuck on and almost caused me to wreck. A Couple of years later I had a Dodge Omni that the accelerator cable also stuck on almost causing me to wreck. Is this a common problem? I just can't figure out why the same thing happened twice to me in two different cars.

Actually it is not too common. I can't think why the way your driving it could be the problem but it is such a dangerous situation that I would try it again and see. Once, twice, maybe the third time you may notice it never happens again and I hope so.
