This question is for a friend.
She has a Dodge Neon, not for sure of the year... between '97 and '02. Whenever she idles or sometimes when the car just starts there will be a loud squealing/screeching sound coming from somewhere under the hood.
It mostly happens as she is coming to a stop at a stop sign or light and then sometimes while it is idling there but no sounds at higher speeds above 15mph I think.
She says she's had the belts changed so not sure what else to suggest.
