Dodge neon Radiator fans not rotating.

Sorry, Its a 1998 Dohc 4 door sedan. Im also expierincing some shakey movents when i put it in drive and reverse. Maybe headgasket, but i do not know. I was going to try to fix the thing myself, but i do not have enough time in my hands to dissemble and chance of breaking it and fixing it. I work on a busy schedual except on weekends. I just put a new air filter in(2nd one), and it didnt really solve anything. But my car was worse before i put the first new air filter in. Then i was washing the hood and got it wet, reason why i got another air filter. But doesnt seem to be helping. And i also noticed, i havent been having problems with my car, untill i got the oil changed at wal-mart, then a day after, i had problems with oil light coming on, and the car overheating.

We know the fans are working..i tested them...and the fans are working...something isnt telllng them to rotate when its hot..so either its the thermostat or the heat sensor
