2003 Dodge Neon; 43,000 miles. Automatic. 4 cylinders.
Hello. Especially in the mornings, my brakes make the most awful noise... it sounds like metal on metal. They make this noise the first few times that I brake each morning, and then they are quite.
I have taken the car to the dealership and to another repair shop, and they say that my rotors are dirty. They say that the brake pads, etc. are all fine. The dealership recommended that I have the rotors sanded, while the repair shop just said to try to clean the tire/brakes when I am washing my car.
My father thinks that there is no way that dirt could be causing the noise that my brakes make. Could the mechanics be overlooking something? Or, should I have the rotors sanded?
Thank you!
