I have a 1995 dodge neon/150,000 miles. I replaced my t-stat and now, after driving a very short time, the needle goes up 1/2 - 3/4 up and we can hear a bubbling noice for a short period after cutting the car off. The cooling fan is coming on after reaching a certain temp, which I know is normal. I have been told I may have a air pocket in the system. I removed the radiator cap, let the car run with the heater on full blast. I let it run about 30 minutes but the water level never dropped any. Do you agree this could be the problem and if so, how do you burp a cooling system. I have done it on fords & gm's but how do I do it on a dodge neon?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist me.

post type and size of motor? on a mini van if it has the mitsu 4 cylinder, the t-stat has to sit it the motor
a certian way because of a bridge just under the stat.
if not it will not work correctly. did you check the water pump for leaks?

sorry, i forgot to tell you how to burp it. while car is cool, without removing the radiator cap, remove the coolant sensor and let the coolant rise to the top of the whole and watch for bubbles, even let some drain out of the hole, if there are no bubbles then it should be burped. i hope this helped.
