My car takes a minute to start. It turns over but it seems to not be getting gas. While driving i press on the gas pedal and the car kind of putter's along. If I press the gas slow it will speed up. What are the signs of a fuel filter or a fuel pump going out? How do I tell which one to replace?

Do you have a check engine light On and when was the last tune-up?

What are the signs of a fuel filter or a fuel pump going out? How do I tell which one to replace? You have to check the fuel pressure to rule them out

Inspect and test all the following listed below and get back with some results

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.
