Speedometer and tachometer

Four cylinder front wheel drive manual 160,000 miles.

I had to have my car jumped off and the tachometer and speedometer both pegged out all the way clockwise. Neither one will reset. How do I get them to work again?

try this, press the trip odometer reset button down, and then turn the ignition to the "on" position simultaneously, then release the button. this should run the gauge cluster through a series of steps, eventually returning all gauge pointers to the minimum scale reading in a smooth sweep.
