My son's neon would not start after stopping for gas. I jumped started it and determined he need new battery. After replacing the battery, sparks shot from the wire attached to the engine block (a separate wire attached to the same bolt runs to the under side of the battery tray). The car wouldn't start - only spark and click .I took the new battery out and replaced it with the old - the car started right up but sparks still flew. Any suggestions?

Loose connector will cause a spark under load
check ,clean and tighten
make sure the new battery same as old one as far as terminal (terminals on same side )
