Engine Performance problem
1998 Dodge Neon 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
have 98 Dodge Neon 4cyl 2.0L DOHC, replaced timing belt, mechanic said, not able to see but one timing mark on cams? Was hard to start, and once started, runs rough. just put on new spark plugs, and getting ready to put on new wires, are the cylinders, numbered, 1 -4 left to right? (am I going to have to have another mechanic get the timing right through the timing belt?) haven't tried to start it again yet. Called Chysler, they told me I had a non-interference eng, if I would have had a interference engine, then I would have valve damage, piston hits valves, bend them. Do I go ahead and try to start it. I'm laid off, and, I've already spent close to $400.00, I don't have the means to go to another mechanic, to redo timing belt. What can I do, been praying about it. Can you help me, please.
