How to replace the starter

what they do not tell you is the top bolt can be a real pain in the neck to get at. it is so much easier to remove the battery and access the top bolt from under the battery. you do not have to remove the engine mount at all. this comes from a guy who
did his.

Here I am, able to buy a 1998 Neon for $200.00, so long as I put a new starter on it. Knowing absolutely nothing about them, I type it into Google, and here I am staring at the full instructions, complete with images.

You are right Xerxies, that is the fastest and easiest way to get the starter out. but i want to mention something left out. i just replace a starter on a 1999 Dodge Neon and after i had unbolt the starter i had to remove the left blower fan which is very easy to do and the starter slid out like butter. Thanks for the information..
