2005 Dodge Magnum Dies while Warming Up

THis is a tough one because we have nothing to go by. If I had this car in my shop, I would start by checking a couple things. First, the ambient temp sensor could be causing a lean mixture at start up which would cause the O2 sensors to have false readings. If it was good, I would most likely move to the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

What I need from you is this. Tell me the code you are getting so I can look it up and see what it says as far as diagnosing the problem. I'm sure there is about a 5 page process, but I will help you weed out the majority of it.

it reads 4 dtcs first one is p0031 p0037 p0051 and p0057. the ambient air temp sensor is also called the IAT right? and the TPS is located with in the Electronich Throttle Control, and it also has the Accelerator Pedal Positioning Sensor. I used the Snap On Solus to read the codes and see whats going on while its running, the throttle position seem to work fine so did the accelerator pedal positioning sensor, but I didnt check the IAT. Can u tell me how to check that one?

Are you geting a PO128 or PO125 code? If so, that is basically telling you that the engine hasn't reached the proper operating temp within a specific amount of time. Many things are considered, for example, time, ambient air temp...

The code usually will come up if for one of the following reasons:

Insufficient warm up time
Low engine coolant level
Leaking or stuck open thermostat
Faulty coolant temperature sensor

What I recommend is to reset the computer and see if it comes back on. If it does, then chances are one of the things I listed above is the problem.

well warm up time cant be it, cause i try to let it warm up, and i have reset that computer so many times and everytime it comes back with the same codes. It did have a misfire code the first times but i found a bad ignition coil on cylinder 3. Thermostat is new, engine coolant level is good, and i haven't checked the coolant temperature sensor. The thing is that i always get the same codes back, all 4. You think getting the PCM reflashed could help?

It could help, but I would have the temp sensor checked first.

I went driving today in the morning, same thing, as i let it warm up, the revs start going down and dies. turned it back on reved it to 2000 for about 30 seconds and it didnt do it again, so i let it warm up for 2 minutes. At traffic lights it revs at about 550, feels a little rough but wont turn off. came back home after i ordered the coolant temperature sensor and IAT sensor, will be in tomorrow morning. then just a few minutes ago, i turned it on again to raise it up on my ramps. well it did the same, i turned it back on and reved it to 2000 for 30 seconds again but this time it started shaking rough, when i put it in gear, it reved up to 1000 rpm! so i shifted it from D to N to R to P and only when i D or R is when it reved high. as i was going up on the ramps it just stalled. It turned back on and finished going up the ramps but still shakin pretty rough. Any ideas?

Lets see what the sensor does. Also, I an't remember, but did we check fuel pump pressure?

took it to the dealer and they found that there was no communication from the PCM. So they replaced it and everything is fixed. Thanks for all your help. I will be using this later on.
