i turned a corner one morning and got an engine code
intrepid sxt 3.5L , 2003
took it in to a transmission guy that fixed a minor issue a year or so before and that issue was minor and fixed
so he said that that i had an 02 sensor code
i checked it at auto zone and got an o2 sensor replaced( bank 1 sensor 1 ) it and the bank 2 sensor 2 code came up , i replaced them all and now have a high voltage to oxygen sensor code
the car when it warms up after a few minutes runs like a top - i put in on a scan tool that hooks up to a laptop and 3 of the 4 sensor show a 1.25 v reading as the car warms up one goes away and the other and finally the last car is running normal
if i shut it off for just a few minutes the same thing happens, the car doesnt idle right and boggs during acceleration , even very lite or no throttle .
it has slowly gotten worse and worse
i took it in to a place that is supposed to be very good for their opinion and diag they said its either the pcm or the harness
i changed the pcm twice - same thing
i took the upper part of the harness loom apart and checked it , nothing that i could tell was bad - all solid wiring down to the pcm
i checked the throttle position sensor , swapped out a test one = ok
i may have damaged the MAP sensor ( dont go poking inside of you map sensor lol ) got a barometric pressure code , new one fixed that = same p0152 engine codes
this harness is unbelievable snaked around and difficult to get to but i am down to getting some used o2 FACTORY sensors to try , do my best at the rest of the harness or just take it in ( if i can find somone good and resonable ) ,
i checked the fuses all seem fine and checked the grounds
as a side note i have had an off an on air bag code that has been solid but i can even begin to look at that , hoping that that isn't related to it
am i missing anything , any one know a good electrical mechanic shop right in between chicago and milwaukee
thanks
pete
