1998 Dodge Intrepid V6 75K miles
I am trying to repair this for my parents, so here is what I know. The car was allowed to overheat several months ago and there mechanic was very concerned the heads may have been damaged. Now the car will barely run and I have begun taking the right side of motor apart. Under the valve cover the oil is milky and thick. After removing the head I did not see anything wrong jumping out at me. I only took a quick look but could swear there was no head gasket unless it is blending in well. The Questions Are. Where do I go from here? How do you clean the sludge like oil? Can I re-assemble cam, lifters and chains exactly the way they were removed or do I need to replace bearings and etc.
