Transmission won't change gears. Runs in 2nd gear all the time. Replaced output speed sensor, the problem continues. Code P0605 (Transmission control module ROM self test fault detected). I Promise donation next time, unemployed for 3 months, started working 2 weeks ago. Please give me a hand.

2nd gear only is fluid(level or condition), electrical(fuse, wiring, computer) or could be mechanical even. Heres why, if it is the TCM that has a internal memory problem it is impossible to test or reset. Quite a few software problems but I never saw a self test falure so if you don't find any circuit protection(fuses) problem inside or under the hood try disconnecting the TCM connector for a while, even overnight to see if it will come to it's senses before getting a reman from a dealer. If the scanner is not right it may not recognize or be accepted by the TCM also.
If wires, and scan is good remember to wait to put the right one in. You must tell the dealer your TCM part number it's on the TCM and that number will supercede to the proper reman or new TCM. no money i want your life better, not worse. you can tip me later in heaven or.....bye

Thank you very much. I'll troubleshoot some more this coming weekend. This car doesn't have one single leak under the hood. Is very, very clean. Fuses ok. Fluid is clean and level, unless this transmission don't like to drink Lucas transmission fluid. Is that possible? Incorrect transmission fluid? Only ATF 4 Plus? Again, thanks for your time and experience.

Gabem, that is a nice car when kept clean and if you ever want to sell it.I would love to drive a real car. All my cars are and always were hundred dollar junk, but I don't drive fast and I am not a race fan. I like people and their safety and well being, that's it. Thank-you Joe
