I have a 2000 dodge intrepid with a 2.7 liter engine, it runs great but it has a 3 second start up delay due to a camshaft sensor problem. The funny thing is that its not supposed to even be running because the sensor isn't even connected, if it is connected it does not start. The diagnostic code reads like this: P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor A - Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction. Please give me an answer quickly somebody?

if it runs bad with it connected and runs good without it then that indicates the sensor is fualty and needs replaced..
