99 dodge intrepid, 170k miles.
symptoms: speedometer stopped working, and on the next turn as i slowed down the car stalled. i put it in park, restarted, and drove away. i realized that the engine was racing, the car was seemi...ngly stuck in second gear. i drove it towards home and the first couple of times that i slowed down it stalled, after a few miles it allowed me to idle without stalling. it still races and is seemingly stuck in second gear.
any ideas?
i checked the fuses and they seem alright, the transmission fluid is normal as well.
