i have a 1999 dodge intrepid 3.2 liter roughly 120,000 miles on it. we replaced the rear passenger side brake caliper because it was froze and wasn't compressing. well now when we try to bleed the brakes the brakes arent compressing with the caliper. what could this problem be? thanks L.B.

Are you getting fluid out of that caliper?

IF fluid gets to that caliper, if may a defect.

there is fluid coming out of the hose to the caliper yes. Could it possibly be the master cylinder not working right?

If your getting fluid out of the bleeder (or the brake hose) on the caliper when you press on the pedal, then the master is doing what it is suppossed to, sounds like a defective caliper.

it's getting some brake fluid coming out of the bleeder but its like a drip of fluid not a flow like the other side. now my husband isnt certain what it could be.

Okay , we are gaining ground.

Next step is to apply pressure to the pedal and start loosening the fitting at the brake hose and see how strong of a flow you get. We need to eliminate a restriction problem.

OR you cna follow the line up to the master cylinder and do the same kind of thing. Pump up the pedal and get pressure, loosen the line at the master and see how strong of a flow you get. This determines if it is at the master cyllinder or a restriction/problem after the master cylinder.

A word of caution, don't allow the brake pedal to go more the 3./4 of the way to the floor or you may inadvertantly damage the master cylinder.
