2003 Dodge Durango won't shift out of 4 wheel drive

I shifted my Durango into 4 wheel drive. It shifted no problem. But when I went to shift it back to 2 wheel drive it would not do it. The light flahes but it never shifts back. Any thoughts on how I can get back to 2 wheel drive?
