There is a whistling noise coming from under the hood of my Durango. The noise is there whether the car is idle or driving. I need help in identifying and possibly repair this problem.

Thanks

Hi
How about opening the hood and try and ID a place where noise comes from? does it change pitch as engine speed increases?
Let me know

The whistling did change a little when driving, but not much.

I took it to the shop and they replaced the IAC motor, however it still whistles. I was told to give it a week or two to see if whistling stops. They are saying it should stop by then and if not I will need a throttle body replacement.

Let me know what you think? Thanks

I am not certain if they checked the those parts, the shop did not mention this. I will look into that. The noise does seem to be coming from the location of the throttle body. After paying alot of money for the iac motor replacement, and it is still whistling are they right that the throttle body could be at fault or does the iac motor need to be worked in as they have stated?

The whistling noise is coming from the vicinity of the throttle body as far as I can tell.

I have noticed since yesterday evening that the noise had stopped for a while, however it came back today and has since stopped again. It is quite confusing when you think about it.

The whistle went away briefly, now it is back with a vengeance. Could this be the throttle body as I was told? I am frustrated and do not want to shell out a lot of money again for non fixes.

The sound seems more like it is coming from the outside around the throttle body not from the iac. I took the car to the shop they stated they will have to change the throttle body. I am a little weary of spending any extra money even if it is just for the part.

Where could a used throttle body be purchased? Any idea of what it would cost.

Could not remove the throttle body, it seems like it has been glued down with some black rubber like substance. Is this normal? I believe the shop may have done this.
