When we start to drive, the engine reves to approximaly 4500 RPM's before shifting into second gear. If we press the gas peddle to much, it causes the engine to instantly rev. In order to reduce RPM's, we have to let off the gas peddle completly and try again. Letting off the gas peddle most times will allow car to shift into second gear. The only time that shifting troubles occure is when shifting from first to second gear, the rest work fine.

Might be a bad shift solenoid or something to that effect. Is the check engine light on?. Regardless, have the PCM scanned for trans codes, the comp may have stored a fault code that will help diagnose the problem
