2002 Dodge Durango grinding brakes

When I apply the brakes there's a loud grinding noise,and a scraping sound when i drive. is it the brake pads?

when it goes from a brake squeel to a grinding noise it means your brake pads are metal on metal replace pads turn rotors if possible if not replace
