2002 Dodge Durango Brake pads or shoes?

Hi Shane, The difference between a pad and a shoe is that a pad is flat and the shoe is crescent shaped. See diagrams below. The Pads are located on the front of almost all vehicles. Shoes are located on the back of almost all vehicles. I say almost because some very old vehicles had shoes front and back and newer vehicle have depending on make and model have either pads or shoe on the back. In order to determin if the drums or rotors can be resurfaced/turned you will need the specs on minimum thickness and you will need special tools to take measurements. And as long as they can be turned/resurfaced and still be within specs your good to go.
