2000 Dodge Durango security system

2000 Dodge Durango Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My dodge durange will not start. The small red dot on the dash lights up with the key inserted. I do not know how to disengage this security system. Please help.

my guess could be you either have a pod(keyless entry devise) that you would need to use to disarm the alarm, or you have a 4-8 button keypad that needs a code to disarm the alarm. i had a similar problem with my 99 durango, i disconnected the battery and reconected it and the keypad reset, i had to get a ride to the dodge store and get the code reset and a master override code in case it happened again
