There is a squeak under the hood of my 1998 Dodge Durango with a 5.2 litre V-8. It sounds like a bad fan belt. So far I have replaced the fan belt, the pulleys, the tensioner, and the fan clutch. Using a mechanic's stethascope, we have listened to all the parts that have been replaced as well as the alternator, and the water pump (they do not transmit any noise through the stethascope.) I still have the noise.
