slimey stuff on air filter

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4 with 75000 miles. When I had my oil changed the other day, there was this slimey, sludgy, peanut-butter-looking stuff on my oil filter. The stuff came from a tube that connects to the top of the air box. Any idea what this material is? Any idea what this indicates? Nobody seems to have seen this before. I replaced the air filter, but the new filter has the same stuff on it after two days. The truck is driving fine, and I haven't noticed anything different. Please help.

sounds like sludge coming from the pcv valve, I would replace the pvc valve tubing and go from there.

really there is no correction, start by increasing oil change intervals, you can use seafoam to clean the internal parts parts and such as well.
If you use seafoam you wont have to replace the PVC valve, if you don't and just increase oil change intervals you will need to replace it for the problem to stop imediatly.

I would go the seafoam route for immediate results
