I have a '95 dakota V-6 and lately the oil pressure drops and the oil light comes on whenever I am sitting at idle.
I took it to a shop and was told that it was because of worn bushings on the rod going to the oil pump giving the computer the wrong signal and that it would cost $500+ to fix.
I have never heard of this and was wondering if anyone else had either. Also, on the way home, my overdrive dropped out and will not engage. I checked the transmission fluid level and it is full.
Could one problem be causing the other?
