Hey there. I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota, Quad cab, 4X4. It has a V-8 with an automatic transmission. The truck has been running great and still is but the engine light came on 2 days ago. I checked the codes on it and it is coding a code 442. I cleared the code and it came right back within seconds. The code is Evaporative emission control system leak detected (small leak). Any ideas on where to start??

Thanks for the help

I would suggest first checking the area where you put your gas in, is there a crack, causing a small leak, secondly replace your fuel cap. This will help alleviate spending a lot of money to find it is not major thing. If after driving over 200 miles and your check engine light is still on, you may have to drop the fuel tank and repair a hose, costing more money of course.
