Just checking the the technology used by my mechanic to determine the cause of my dakota overheating. He advised there was a chemical he puts in the antifreeze to see if any exhaust gases are present in the cooling system. Said if so, the chemical or antifreeze changes color to indicate a head gasket or cracked head/block... Is that something you can confirm? Is that possible? Is there such a chemical?
thx RS
