High idle in the morning up & down from 2500 to 1500, will even out in a few seconds or when it is put in gear, doesent seem to do it when I'm driving or after the truck is worm. I thought it might be the EGR valve or the throtle poisting sensor but have also been told it could be a vacume line. I do most work myself and can do any of these jobs but dealer wont take parts back if I guess wrong. Just trying to save a buck.
Thanks

It could be several things. First, I don't think a vacuum leak would cause that much of a change in RPM's. Has the check engine light come on?

No it has not buttonight at a red light it felt like it was going to stall. The rpm's droped below 1000 and they are always steady at 1000 when I'm not on the gas.

If the check engine light didn't come on, chances are it is fuel related or a vacuum leak. If you haven't checked for leaks, start there. You may also want to check fuel pump pressure. Here is a how to for doing so:

Let me know what you find.
