I have a small air inlet (sucks in a large amount of air into the engine) that is open and unfiltered. I assume its supposed to be attached to some tube leading to the air filter but have been unable to find where it could possible lead. It is about a 1 inch long inlet

Can you take a picture of it and upload it for me to see? Based on your description, it sounds like a hose for the PCV, but I can't be sure without seeing it. If I am correct, check in the back of the throttle body for where it may go.

Yeah, I will do it after work tomorrow. I stopped in at the dealer and they think its some sort of hose that went to a 4x4/ac/cruise control something or another.

I picked up a new pvc valve and a new tube leading to the air intake to the oil pan(?). She is running better, but will do tomorrow.

I'll look for the picture. Also, if it is a hose for the 4wd, try it to see if will engage. If there is no vacuum getting to it, it won't work.

Let me know.

well it just so happens my service 4x4 light comes on periodically, every other day or so. It did it this past winter, but I was able to keep on using 4x4.

That is interesting. Regardless, I'll take a look at the picture and see if I can figure it out.

Take care,
