1999 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100+ miles

i have a 1999 dodge dakota sport v6 with a 22 gallon gas tank. she was sputtering at lights and above 30mph. i changed the fuel pump and she's running much better, but when i get about 1/4 mile from my house i get some sputtering and have to muscle through it. once i push the gas hard she seems to even out and runs fine until i turn her off again and the problem happens again even if the engine is warm. what should i check next iac? fuel injector? tps? any insight would be appreciated folks....

no it hasn't. no check engine light as of yet. i ran seafoam through her yesterday and she's running better, but still not 100%. still getting that damn sputter

If the light hasn't come on, I would start with checking fuel pump pressure and looking for vacuum leaks.

right on Joe, thanks for the quick replies. i ordered a new tps just for the hell of it because mine looked kind of old and it was only $30. if that doesn't do it i'll pick up a fuel pressure gauge and see what's what. i suspect from the excellent video you referred me to that the problem might be the regulator. the new fuel pump has her running much smoother, except for that pesky sputter at 1/4 mile out. are you thinking regulator?

It could be. If the pressure is too high or low, it could cause it. Also, remember when you remove the vacuum line from the regulator, check to see if there is gas in it. If there is, replace it.
