Having trouble starting the truck, keeping it started.. Have to restart it, then keep pedal depressed, otherwise, it's like it's not getting gas. Even with this procedure, often have to restart it several times - and always keep pedal depressed to keep engine from stalling. Usually put in low gear to start out, because this seems to help keep engine from stalling. Sometimes the issue doesn't present itself. Other times, after I'm going down the road - regular - the engine will sputter, acts like even tho the gas pedal is depressed that it's not getting gas. Sometimes, after I've had trouble keeping it started, but have got it going and gone a couple of blocks, the engine will idle fine while parked.

It sounds like a sensor, TPS, IAC... The problem is without checking the computer for trouble codes, anything I say would be a guess. What I recommend is to take the truck to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most stores will do it for free.

Let me know what code you get.

Trip to the nationally recognized parts store was a waste of time, since they only have equipment to check issues relative to the "Check Engine" light, and my light wasn't on.

Took it to Castrol Car Center [since the oil also needed changing]: They charged $50 to use their diagnostics: They said both the TPS and AIC valve were bad.
TPS = $70;
IAC = $72;
Labor = $65;
Supplies = $10;
With oil change, I spent $305.

Bah...HumBuG! [...or should I be pleased?]

Hi:
I thought that is where the problem was, but I hated to say for sure and have you spend the money and me be wrong.

As far as the price, you did ok. You could have saved on the labor by doing it yourself (not too hard of a job) but they didn't take advantage of you.

I'm surprised the parts store couldn't find that. In the future, regardless if the light is on or not, have it scanned. The computer will store codes even if the light is off. A hard code (one that last for several minutes without change) will kick the light.

Take care, and let us know if you have questions in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that I have tried leaving feedback, but always got an Error.

Feedback box says I have : 0.1 points.

I tried leaving "0.1"; error asks, "Why leave zero?"

I tried leaving ".1"; error asks, "Why leave zero?"

I tried leaving "1"; error says, "You can not leave points more than you have."
